To some extent, we’re all exposed to perfectionism and the pursuit of such, however to what extent is this actually impeding our progress, rather than adding to it?

Probs quite a lot mate.

(Great answer to an essay question, I know)

But seriously..

Something that comes alongside this whole all or nothing mindset the western world seems to have (me and probs you), is that if something can’t be completely pristine perfect, then there’s no point doing that something at all.

One of the best examples I can think of with this is the whole setting your house on fire scenario.

As in, your kitchen is one fire, and so you just think oh fuck it, i’ll just set my whole house on fire!

This is a terrifyingly accurate representation of a lot of the decisions us humans make day to day, especially when someone is trying to better their eating habits.

I’m gonna drag my little pea-head into this scenario, because i used to really struggle with this.

I remember, about 2 years, when I used to do ‘cutting’ and ‘bulking’ cycles (do not recommend for having a healthy relationship with body or food). I was on an 8 week cut (cut meaning simply, reducing body fat), and i was also on about 1600 calories a day (again, would not recommend).
