One of the biggest problems with the human condition, is the want and need for anything that is all or nothing.

And sure, as that’s the way our axons communicate (if you got that, then i’m glad), one could say it’s an inbuilt way of thinking.. and i’d agree.

Let’s put this into the context of dieting.

So I’m overweight, unhappy in my body and have a holiday in 3 weeks time.

I google ‘quick fat loss in 3 weeks’.

Ah brilliant — this website tells me i just need to not eat any food for 3 weeks, and just drink water. Oh, and have a shot of apple cider vinegar in the morning to boost my metabolism.

Brilliant. Just 3 weeks of suffering, to change all my lifes problems. Sounds perfect.

So I proceed to not eat food, deal with the awkward encounters of family members asking why i’m not eating today, they tell me ‘that’s a bit extreme’, but they don’t know what I know. I now know the secret to losing fat and i’m going to be a different woman come 3 weeks time.

2 days in and I’m fucking starving, I wish my kids could eat a bit quieter and the world is making me angry.

Day 3 and I now want to kill…
