Are habits really important?
Habits are the reason you turn on the kettle the second you enter the kitchen in the morning. Habits are also the reason you grab your phone out and immediately begin the mindless scroll through instagram any time you have a free minute.
Habits can be desirable and push you towards self actualisation, or they can be self destructive and cause you to be 6 stone overweight.
I think the point that people tend to not realise, is that we are creatures of habit.

Essentially, setting a goal of losing 5kg and taking up running is great in theory, but how are you going to achieve that?
What systems and habits are you going to create to ensure that that goal is achieved?
Probably not much except 5 days of feeling really motivated until your honeymoon period ends and everything hurts.
A place to begin with this is to TRACK all of your behaviours over the course of the day, because awareness is the first step to making change.
