2 Worrying Things Having The Coronavirus Taught Me.

COVID19, coronavirus, the rona, the CHINA virus (you get the point) has been pretty much all of our lives the past 7 months.

Zoom calls, having to wear a mask at work, see friends outside 2 metres apart, go to the gym and frantically sanitise everything you’ve touched.. there’s not really been that much escape from it

As being part of the ‘younger’ generation (definitely not a boomer), I think I can probably speak for the majority of people my age and say that fear surrounding the virus massively reduced as time went on.

It was being continually reinforced to everyone below the age of 25 that you’ll be absolutely fine, it will just be like having a mild cold and there’s nothing to worry about. My concern was never about myself due to these reasons, but more about older family.

As things opened up, I was incredibly eager to get a sense of normality back with very little fear of getting the virus, going out for food, going to the gym, meeting with friends, going on holiday, regaining a sense of normality.

I was very much in the attitude of “life has to go on” and if I get it, then I get it.

Hand washing, hand sanitiser, 2 metre distance, avoiding human interaction was no longer in the forefront of my mind. I’d not known anybody…
